چکیده

In this report we investigate the homogenization of the one dimensional Vlasov-Maxwell system. We indicate the rate of convergence towards the limit solution. In the non relativistic case we compute explicitly the limit solution. The theoretical results are illustrated by some numerical simulations.

Finite Element Hodge for Spline Discrete Differential Forms. Application to the Vlasov-Poisson Equations

The notion of B-spline based discrete differential forms is recalled and along with a Finite Element Hodge operator, it is used to design new numerical methods for solving the Vlasov-Poisson equations. Answer’s to the referees’ questions Aurore Back and Eric Sonnendrücker April 12, 2013 We thank the referees for the careful reading of our manuscript and for many interesting comments that helped...

Finite speed propagation of the solutions for the relativistic Vlasov-Maxwell system

In this report we investigate the continuous dependence with respect to the initial data of the solutions for the 1D and 1.5D relativistic Vlasov-Maxwell system. More precisely we prove that these solutions propagate with finite speed. We formulate our results in the framework of mild solutions, i.e., the particle densities are solutions by characteristics and the electro-magnetic fields are Li...

Global Solutions for the One-dimensional Vlasov-maxwell System for Laser-plasma Interaction

We analyse a reduced 1D Vlasov–Maxwell system introduced recently in the physical literature for studying laser-plasma interaction. This system can be seen as a standard Vlasov equation in which the field is split in two terms: an electrostatic field obtained from Poisson’s equation and a vector potential term satisfying a nonlinear wave equation. Both nonlinearities in the Poisson and wave equ...

Splitting methods for Vlasov–Poisson and Vlasov–Maxwell equations

A rigorous convergence analysis of the Strang splitting algorithm for Vlasov-type equations in the setting of abstract evolution equations is provided. It is shown that, under suitable assumptions, the convergence is of second order in the time step τ . As an example, it is verified that the Vlasov–Poisson equations in 1+1 dimensions fit into the framework of this analysis. Further, numerical e...

Numerical Simulation of Wake-Field Acceleration Using an Eulerian Vlasov Code

We study the generation of nonlinear plasma wake fields by intense laser pulses, using an Eulerian code for the numerical solution of the fully relativistic onedimensional (1D) Vlasov-Maxwell equations. The examination of the phase-space of the distribution function allows to study without numerical noise aspects of the particle acceleration by the wake-field generated by intense laser pulses, ...
